Gauge Tie Rod

The gauge tie rod is a key transverse connecting component of railway tracks. Installed at the bottom of the steel rails, it firmly connects the left and right rails. Its core function is to resist the lateral wheel-rail forces, prevent the gauge from expanding or shrinking, and enhance the lateral stiffness and stability of the track. It is indispensable, especially in small-radius curved turnout areas and track circuit sections, serving as a fundamental accessory to ensure the safety of high-speed and heavy-load train operations. If the tie rod is missing or fails, it can easily lead to gauge deviation, potentially triggering major accidents such as derailments.
