Conductor Splice Bars

Pre‑formed splice fittings are classified into conductor splice bars, jumper splice bars, full‑tension splice bars for ACSR, T‑type connection bars, pre‑formed splice bars for steel strand guy wires/earth wires, and splice bars for aluminum‑clad steel strands. Each product category covers three series for ACSR, aluminum conductor and steel strand respectively, subject to service environment and line conductor materials. Except for full‑tension splice bars for ACSR, all splice bars adopt single‑layer pre‑formed wires. The full‑tension splice bar for ACSR consists of three layers: inner steel‑core splice bar, filler bar and outer splice bar.

Compared with widely‑used splicing sleeves and hydraulic compression sleeves, pre‑formed splice fittings feature easy installation, reliable splicing performance, superior corrosion resistance, light weight and good elasticity, without impairing the original mechanical and electrical properties of conductors.

Features

• Splice bars can fully restore the mechanical strength of conductors and earth wires, achieving 100% of the calculated breaking strength of original conductors and earth wires.
• Excellent corrosion resistance: Pre‑formed splice bars are made of materials identical to those of conductors to ensure favorable anti‑corrosion performance. Matching splice bars shall be selected for different conductor types.
• For pre‑formed splice bars applied to conductors, the inner layer is coated with conductive sand of high conductivity, delivering outstanding electrical performance after splicing.
• Easy installation: Fast, simple and convenient field assembly.
• Strong adaptability: Light weight, high elasticity, excellent anti‑vibration capacity and long service life.

Notes

• Conductor splice bars may be adopted for repair when all outer aluminum strands of ACSR or full aluminum conductors are broken, restoring 100% mechanical and electrical performance.
• Full‑tension splice bars for ACSR shall be used where both outer aluminum strands and steel core of ACSR are damaged, restoring 100% mechanical and electrical performance.
• Splice bars for steel strand guy wires/earth wires shall be used for damaged steel strand guy wires or earth wires to restore 100% mechanical strength.
• T‑type splice bars are applied for tap‑splicing of conductors with equal or different cross‑sections, with gripping strength no less than 25% of the rated breaking strength of conductors.
• Regardless of service history, all conductors shall be thoroughly cleaned and polished to remove oxide layers until metallic luster is exposed prior to splice bar installation. High‑quality conductor‑matched conductive grease shall be applied to conductor surfaces before product fitting.
• Pre‑formed conductor splice bars are designed for specific applications and for one‑time use only. Reuse is prohibited under any circumstances.
