Q1: What does the “330103” model number mean relative to other 3300 XL probes?
A: The prefix “330103” identifies the variant of the 8 mm probe with armour included (as opposed to “330101” which is without armour). So “330103” = 8 mm, armour. The suffix options then define length, case size, cable type, approvals, etc.

Q2: What is the significance of “-50” in the part number?
A: It indicates the Total Length Option (the combined length of probe + cable). For example, in many listings “50” = 5.0 metres (16.4 ft).

So your part likely has a total length of ~5 m.

Q3: Can I use this probe with a shorter or longer cable than specified?
A: Yes, the 3300 XL system is designed for interchangeability of probes, extension cables, and sensor modules. However,

when you use a non-standard length, make sure you maintain the specified cable characteristics (75 Ω triaxial,

correct impedance), and verify signal integrity. If you lengthen too much, you may risk degraded

performance (loss of bandwidth, increased noise). The datasheet states compatibility but

also warns that system performance and accuracy are defined for

specified lengths and components.
