Q1: What is the sensing principle of this probe?
A1: It is a non-contacting eddy-current proximity transducer: The probe tip monitors the gap between the tip and a conductive target (e.g., a rotating

shaft). As the shaft moves closer or further from the probe, the eddy-current effect changes the voltage output, which the

associated sensor (Proximitor®) converts to a displacement or vibration signal.

Q2: Is this probe interchangeable with other Bently ‘3300’ series probes?
A2: Yes with caveats: The NSv probe is mechanically and electrically compatible with older 3300 RAM probes in many cases.

However, when upgrading or mixing systems you must ensure that the entire chain (probe + extension cable + Proximitor

sensor) is of the same family if you want full performance (linear range, calibration).

Q3: What mounting/thread details should I check?
A3: For “330904” series: thread is M8×1, with armor (probe cable is armored). Ensure the mounting hole/thread

in your equipment matches M8×1. Also ensure correct lock-nut and

wrench flats as per datasheet.
