The spherical buoy is one kind of representative pick-up buoy. It has a spherical shape or oval shape.
The steelwork construction through the buoy's middle vertically. The spherical buoys can be supplied with swivel end or other end fittings designs. The spherical mooring buoys are constructed by resilient closed cell polyethylene / EVA foam around the inner central steelwork, covered by polyurethane (PU) outer skin. The resilient closed cell polyethylene/EVA foam core guarantees self-fendering and is unsinkable even in case of damage. And self-colored polyurethane elastomer skin is resistant to abrasion and ultraviolet ray degradation.
For extreme service environments, the polyurethane elastomer skin can be reinforced by nylon to a protective coating that has higher tear strength, making the buoy long-lasting and virtually maintenance-free.
Features
-- Polyurethane Elastomer Skin - Various colors of PU elastomer
skin
-- Self-fendering Sel-fendering with high impact absorption
-- End Fitting - Various end fitting options are available
-- Customized Size & Shape - Customized size and shape available
Construction
1. Inner Foam Core - Un-skinnable closed cell polyethylene/EVA foam
core with various density
2. Reinforcement Layer - Nylon can be used to reinforce the
polyurethane elastomer skin to get the better protection upon
request
3. Outer Skin - UV-resistant and high visibility polyurethane
elastomer skin

Main application scenarios for spherical buoys:
● Deep-sea exploration: They can serve as carriers for deep-sea probes, carrying various scientific instruments and equipment for deep-sea geological, biological, and chemical exploration and research.
● Ocean monitoring: In the field of ocean monitoring, deep-sea buoys can be used for water quality monitoring, marine pollution monitoring, and other areas, providing data support for marine environmental protection.
● Channel warning: Some deep-sea buoys also have channel warning functions, used to mark channel boundaries and remind ships to pay attention to navigation safety.
Deep-sea solid buoyancy materials are widely used in various deep-sea operation equipment, including but not limited to:
● Underwater robots: They provide the necessary buoyancy support for underwater robots to ensure their stable operation underwater.
● Submersibles: As a key component of submersibles, they provide buoyancy to balance the weight of the submersible underwater.
● Buoy systems: In ocean observation, they provide buoyancy for the buoy system, allowing it to remain stably suspended at a predetermined depth.
● Offshore oil exploration and development: Used in the manufacture of key equipment such as risers and deepwater pipeline deployment floats during offshore oil exploration and development.
● Buoyancy materials for deep-sea transport and operation equipment: Large ROV floats, ROV umbilical cable floats
● Buoyancy materials for offshore oil systems: Flowline buoys, offshore mooring buoys
● Marine survey and detection systems: ADCPs, seabed-based floats
● Marine mining systems: Cable floats, trencher floats
