ABB RDCU-02C is a Distributed communication and control unit (Remote Distributed) specifically designed for Relion® 650 and 670 series multi-functional protection relays (such as REF650, REM650, REB650, RED670, etc.) (Communication Unit). As an intelligent expansion node of the main protection device, RDCU-02C not only provides additional digital input/output (DI/DO) channels, but also supports IEC 61850 GOOSE communication, achieving high-speed interlocking, state sharing and distributed automation logic.

Installation and Usage instructions
Mechanical installation
Installed on the DIN rail inside the target switch cabinet, close to the monitored equipment;
The panel can be fixed using the included bracket.
Electrical and communication connections
Connect the RDCU interface of the main relay through a dedicated 12-core shielded cable;
The optical fiber is connected to the station-level Process Bus switch.
The on-site signal lines are connected to the terminal block (DI: 1-32; DO: 33-48).
Software configuration
Guide the main relay configuration in the PCM600 engineering tool;
Automatically identify RDCU-02C and allocate DI/DO logic functions;
Configure the GOOSE publish/subscribe dataset (such as "Circuit breaker Position → Busbar differential protection").
Debugging and verification
Monitor the I/O status online through the front panel LED or PCM600.
Verify the correctness of the GOOSE message using the IEC 61850 SCL file.
