IEC 61034 Computer Controlled Wire And Cable Smoke Density Test Chamber / Testing Equipment
Product Introduction:
The 27 cubic meter wire and cable smoke density test chamber is
developed according to the IEC 61034, BS 6853, GB/T17651.1~2 test
standards, and is mainly used for smoke density performance testing
of wires, cables and optical cables. During the test, when smoke is
generated, the light path is blocked by smoke, and the optical
transmittance is continuously changed, thereby obtaining the
minimum transmittance value and the test time to reach the minimum
transmittance.

Working principle:
The optical measurement system of smoke density of cables or optical cables burning under specific conditions consists of a light source, a silicon photocell, a light source receiver and a computer system. The light generated by the light source passes through a 3m×3m×3m smoke density laboratory, forming a uniform beam of 1.5m±0.1m in diameter on the wall opposite the light source. The photocell installed at the center of the beam detects the intensity of the beam from the light source. When a large amount of smoke is generated in the combustion chamber due to the burning of cables or optical cables, the smoke absorbs part of the photoelectricity, and the intensity of the beam reaching the silicon photocell is weakened. By processing the data through the computer system, the transmittance It with a linear response relative to the initial 100% can be calculated.
IEC 61034 wire and cable smoke density test chamber's composition:
The entire instrument consists of a closed test chamber, a photometer measurement system, an alcohol tray, a combustion system, an igniter, a test box, a cable bracket, a temperature measuring instrument and a smoke density test software; the circuit is developed using a single-chip microcomputer, with high technical content and stable performance. This instrument is suitable for all cables and is widely used by production factories and scientific research and testing units in the wire and cable industry. The test chamber is a test cube with a volume of 27m3.
Feature:
1. Smoke density test chamber:
a. The internal dimensions of the box are 3000mm X 3000mm X 3000mm,
and the total internal volume is 27 cubic meters;
b. The interior of the box is made of SUS 304 stainless steel, and
the exterior is iron spray-coated. Since the combustion test
process will continuously release corrosive gases, the inner wall
of the box is treated with dark Teflon, which can not only resist
the erosion of corrosive gases, but also will not cause the failure
of the test results due to reflection during the test.
c. The test box is equipped with a laboratory door and an
observation window, so that users can observe the state in the
combustion chamber.
d. Transparent glass plates are installed on the left and right
walls, and light sources and optical receiving devices can be
installed on both sides;
e. Several ventilation holes are opened on the part of the box
close to the ground to ensure the balance of atmospheric pressure
inside and outside the box
2. Smoke density test chamber measurement and data collection part:
a. Prepare a desktop fan to evenly stir the smoke in the combustion
chamber;
b. The top of the box is equipped with a centrifugal fan to remove
the smoke generated by the test;
c. Surface ignition device, remote ignition to ensure the safety of
testers;
d. Prepare combustion test bracket and stainless steel alcohol
tray;
e. The light source is an imported light source. The test light
source adopts a constant current source control and has higher
stability.
f. The light source accepts silicon photocells, which are equipped
with cosine calibration devices and color filters. Through this
measure, a higher degree of human eye matching can be achieved.
g. Standard transmittance, using 19 cabinet floor installation
method, built-in touch screen computer and printer.
3. Optical technical parameters of the smoke density test chamber:

Compared with the constant voltage mode, the data is more stable
and reliable.
