Core Characteristics and Principles
HTN (High Twisted Nematic) liquid crystal features molecules with a
110°-130° twist angle, providing wider viewing angles than
traditional TN screens. The primary viewing angle reaches
approximately 40 degrees from the normal line toward the 12 o'clock
direction, with a secondary viewing angle of about 20 degrees,
offering superior visibility at a cost-effective price point.
In positive polarized mode, this display presents constant white
background with black text, ensuring excellent readability in
reflection and semi-transparency designs. It performs optimally in
well-lit environments, providing clear visibility without requiring
backlighting, which reduces power consumption.
The 12 o'clock viewing direction is optimized for scenarios where
the display is positioned below eye level, allowing users to read
data from above. This viewing angle is determined by the alignment
layer's friction direction and cannot be altered by rotating the
polarizer.
Supporting low driving voltage (typically 3.5V) and low current
consumption, this product supports driving circuits up to 1/8-1/32
duty cycle, meeting requirements for simple character and numeric
displays. It offers three display modes: full transparency,
semi-transparency, and reflection for various lighting conditions.
