Wedge wire screen is a metal mesh component that is widely used in screening, filtration, dehydration, and desliming operations for screening and filtration. It has high strength, stiffness and load-bearing capacity, and can be made into rigid screening filters in various shapes.
The wedge-shaped mesh consists of a surface profile and a support profile. The surface profile (usually a V-shaped wire) is wrapped and welded to the support profile. The distance between the surface profiles is controlled very precisely because it forms the groove through which the filtrate flows. The direction of flow is determined by the position of the V-shaped line (surface profile) relative to the support profile. Wedge-shaped wire mesh is outflow to inflow or inflow to outflow.
Its homogeneous filter groove and high precision guarantee effective retention of the filter media.Compared to other screens, wedge-shaped wire mesh has a larger flow area.
The tiny gap between the wedge-shaped wires forms a smooth wedge-shaped cross-section, ensuring no dead angles, excellent clogging resistance, and easy backwashing (blow-washing).
