The IS420UCSCH1B is a Quad Core Controller manufactured and designed by General Electric. It is a part of the Mark VIe Series used in GE Distributed Control Systems. It is a version of the quad-core controller that is used with the QNX Neutrino operating system. TMR, Simplex, and Dual redundancy are supported by the component. The QNX operating system is used in high-speed, highly reliable industrial applications. Another type of technology used on this controller is Embedded Field Agent (EMA) technology, which allows Predix cloud-based applications and possibly web applications to be applied over a stable connection, allowing real-time data to be delivered to the connecting controllers.

The IS420UCSCH1B controller comes with 4 GB of DDR3-1333 SDRAM, which is a type of memory used in computers and other digital devices for high-speed data storage. The controller has 5 Ethernet ports, which allow it to connect to other devices and networks for data transfer and communication. The controller uses ControlST as its Human-Machine Interface (HMI), which is a software application used to interact with and control the device. The IS420UCSCH1B Quad-Core Controller is another version of the UCSC controller that has a quad-core and operates on 1.2 GHz AMD G-Series.

The IS420UCSCH1B has a variety of different ports used for Ethernet Interfacing, there are three of the ports which are each used for different redundancy applications. When being used in a TMR redundant applications all three ports will be used, whereas in dual redundant applications only the S/SL2 and R/SL1 ports will be used. The RJ45 connector and 10Base-TX/100Vase-TX twisted pairing are used with the ports in any redundancy application. The IS420UCSCH1B board is very reliable and so less prone to damage. But the improper handling and poor storage can affect the functionality of the card. So that we recommend keeping the cards in static sensitive storage boxes in recommended conditions.

The IS420UCSCH1B controller is the second of the UCSC controllers in the Mark VIe Series, this controller can be used with a Control ST version of 07.01 or later and can be used with embedded EtherCAT, embedded PPNG, and EFA configurations. The IS420UCSCH1B is a later revision of the UCSC controller and has features not provided by the prior model IS420UCSCH1A.
