Tube End RequirementsFree from burrs, weld buildup, and discontinuities inside and outside.
Fin InterruptionsNot more than 2 interruptions per tube, with adjacent fin ends connected by stapling.
Loose Fins LimitTotal number of loose fins shall not exceed six per interruption.
Groove ChecksRegular checks of groove depth and minimum wall thickness during production.
Pull Test RequirementFinned tubes shall be subjected to a pull test if specified by the contractor.
Testing FrequencyOne out of every 100 tubes tested at two points no less than 3m apart.
Fin Cutting RequirementFin shall be cut leaving a pie-shaped section with a root length of approximately 12mm.
Weight Application for TestingClamp section and apply weights up to 2.3kg for at least one minute.
Failure ProtocolIf a tube fails, test a location within 0.9m. If it fails again, test another tube from the lot.
