Uniaxial Plastic Geogrid Introduction
The unidirectional geogrid is a kind of high molecular polymer as
the main raw material, adding certain anti-ultraviolet, anti-aging
additives, after unidirectional stretching, the originally
distributed chain-shaped molecules are re-orientated and arranged
in a linear state. It is a high-strength geotechnical material that
is pressed into a thin plate and punched with regular meshes, and
then stretched longitudinally. . In this process, the polymer
becomes a directional linear state and forms an oblong network
integral structure with uniform distribution and high node
strength.

Unidirectional stretching geogrid is used to reinforce the
embankment dam slope and retaining wall: the traditional
embankment, especially the high embankment, often needs to be
overfilled and the edge of the shoulder is not easy to compact,
which leads to the rainwater infiltration and collapse of the slope
in the later period. The phenomenon of instability occurs from time
to time, and at the same time, a gentle slope is required, which
covers a large area, and the retaining wall has the same problem.
The use of geogrids to reinforce the embankment slope or retaining
wall can reduce the area occupied by half. Area, extend the service
life, reduce the cost by 20-50%; unidirectional stretching geogrid
can also be used to strengthen rivers and sea dikes: it can be made
into a stone cage, and then used with the grid to prevent the dike
from being washed by sea water and cause collapse. The cage has
permeability, can slow down the impact of waves, extend the life of
the dam, save manpower and material resources, and shorten the
construction period.
Construction method of one-way geogrid:
Excavate the foundation bed, set up a sand cushion (the height
difference is not more than 10cm), roll it into a platform, and lay
a grid. The longitudinal axis should be consistent with the main
force direction, and the longitudinal overlap should be 15-20cm,
the lateral 10cm, and the overlap Bind it with plastic tape, and
fix it on the ground with U-shaped nails every 1.5-2m on the laid
grid. The laid geogrid should be backfilled with earth material in
time. The number of layers of the laid geogrid depends on the
technical requirements. The construction process requirements of
the geogrid: the paving surface of the geogrid should be relatively
flat. After the paving layer has passed the experience, in order to
prevent the longitudinal skew phenomenon, first draw a white line
or hanging line on the paving layer according to the width. You can
start paving, and then use iron nails to fix the ends of the grille
(8 nails per meter width, fixed at a uniform distance). After
fixing the ends of the grille, use a paving machine to slowly pull
the grille forward, and manually tighten and straighten it every 10
meters long until one roll of grille is finished, and then another
roll is laid. The operation is the same as before. After laying a
roll, use a 6T-10T roller from the starting point to roll it in the
forward direction. (If paving on the middle layer and leveling
layer, it is better to use a steel roller roller; if the grating is
directly laid on the concrete pavement, it is better to use a
rubber roller roller.) For the section length, after the section
length of the grid should be paved, check the paving quality as a
whole, and then pave the next section. When laying the next
section, the grid and the grid can be overlapped with a length of
10-15CM, and fixed with iron nails or wooden wedges, and then
continue to pave the second section in the forward direction. By
analogy, the operation requirements are the same as before.
