Product Details

The 1756-RM2 is a ControlLogix Enhanced Redundancy Module manufactured by Allen Bradley. The 1756-RM2 features an enhanced speed with a performance of 1000 Megabytes per Second. Paired with 1756-L7 x controllers in both chassis, the 1756-RM2 gives best scan performance and for cross loading the 1756-RM2 uses redundant fiber ports ensuring no single point of failure. While on channel switchover, the processing chassis is usually synched while scan time might encounter delay of up to 10 Milliseconds. The 1756-RM2 comes with enhanced safety features making it interference free. The 1756-RM2 is a redundancy module that draws a 1.16 Amps current running at 5.1 Volts DC and 3.4 mA at 24 Volts DC. The maximum power dissipation for the 1756-RM2 is 6 Watts with a thermal dissipation of 21 BTU per hour and it is usually installed on any slot location on the chassis. The shipping weight for the 1756-RM2 is 0.64 pounds and the shipping dimensions for the 1756-RM2 includes 5.51 x 4.41 x 5.71 inches. The module comes with an open enclosure. For communication, the 1756-RM2 features seven enhanced ControlNet and EtherNet/IP communication modules. When it comes to wiring, the 1756-RM2 functions effectively with the 1756-RMC1, the 1756-RMC3, and the 1756-RMC10 cables with 1 meter, 3 meter, and 10 meter lengths respectively.


The 1756-RM2 also supports the ControlLogix 5560 and ControlLogix 5570 series of controllers while the redundant system must have two 1756 Chassis featuring similar number of slots, modules, and also the firmware version. The operating temperature for the 1756-RM2 is 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit which is equivalent to 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. For operating the module, RSLinx 2.59.01 communication software and the RSLogix 5000 20.01.00 programming software are required.
