Mono-filament Yarn Woven Filter Meshes to screen particles in liquid filtration
Introduction of Mono-filament Filter Fabrics/meshes
Monofilament filter fabrics/Meshes are ideal materials for sieving, straining or filtering most liquids, pow-ders or sludges. The term ‘Monofilament’ means that each thread used in the construction of the cloth is a single smooth solid strand instead of many smaller diameter threads twisted together, as in a spun or multifilament material. These monofilament threads are perfectly round in section and are extruded to very precise and uniform diameters.
Filter Fabrics/Meshes Terms
Fabric number: The fabric number is composed of:
Mesh-count n 110-80W PW
Thread ∅ dnom 110-80W PW
Fabric colour 110-80W PW
(white = W; yellow = Y)
Type of weave 110-80W PW
(Plain Weave = PW)
Weave: The type of weave is either
PW (plain weave 1:1),
TW (twill weave 2:1, 2:2 etc.)
or AW (Panama weave 1×1, Two threads positioned one beside the
other).
Mesh-count n [n ⁄ cm]
The mesh-count n stands for the number of threads per cm.
The tolerance is the accepted band-width of the statistically
ascertained mean values of mesh-counts.
Mesh-opening w [μm]:
The mesh-opening w is
the distance between two
contiguous warp or weft
threads.
The percentage of open area αo is the cumulation of all the
mesh-openings expressed in % of the total screen area. It is
calculated from the mean value of mesh-openings and the
actual thickness of the threads.
