There are five important components of malleable cast iron like Carbon ,Slicion, Manganese, Sulfur , Phosphorus . wC=2.2-2.8%,wSi=1.2-1.8%, wMn=0.4-1.2%, wP=0.1%, wS=0.2%

Carbon is a graphitizing element,Silicon promotes graphitization,When the content is high, it reacts,Sulfur hindered graphitization,Manganese also hindered the graphitization,so manganese also is important . Phosphorus generally has little effect,but the content is too high, will reduce the toughness of pipe fittings.
