    Direct LFT Compression & Injection

    In the Direct LFT compression and injection molding process, the thermoplastic to be reinforced is introduced at the head of the extruder.
    The glass rovings are introduced in the melt of the twin-screw extruder to be impregnated .
    The "hot bulk molding compound" produced is then either quickly transferred to a press for compression molding or directly transferred to a shot pot for injection molding, where it is molded while still hot. The part is then removed after sufficient cooling


    Composite material is used in a number of applications in the automotive industry due to its temperature resistance, rigidity and fatigue strength. The benefits of using composites include greater fuel efficiency, corrosion resistance, light weight and strength. Composites also provide a low-cost way to help keep designs looking fresh.

    Composites are used in:

    - interior parts (cockpit, trimming, seats, instrument panels)
    - exterior structure (body panels, openings, underbody, front/rear modules)
    - engine compartment and fuel/mechanical area parts (axles and suspensions, fuel and exhaust systems)
    - electrical and electronic components

    LTF material:

    Direct long-fiber thermoplastic (D-LFT) compounding and molding is getting ready to expand beyond non-appearance structural automotive parts to exterior body panels. The move also involves a switch from polyolefins, which have been the mainstay of D-LFT composites, to styrenic thermoplastics. Compression molding of large thermoplastic composite body panels reportedly has passed its first successful feasibility study. The road appears to be open to evaluation of rear hatches, doors, and roofs with Class A surfaces.

    In the meantime, there are also new developments in structural D-LFT auto parts for chassis and under-hood applications. These include profiling blank thickness with an adjustable die, adding reinforcing fabrics to random chopped-glass blanks, and investigating nylon as a D-LFT matrix under the hood.

    • Application of moldflow analysis

      Moldflow refers to simulating mold injection process on the computer by using data simulation software so as to gain data result, and evaluating the feasibility of the scheme with the result, with the purpose of perfacting mould design scheme and product design scheme.

      Recenty, along with the gradual maturity of the market, customers return to rational as for moulds, not satisfying with only the price advantage. Customers’ production cost, production difficulty, product stability and mould using stability, all require the progress of the mould industry.

    Q. What type of mold tool do I need?
    A.Mold tools can be either single cavity (one part at a time)or multi(2,4, 8 or 16 parts at a time). Single cavity tools are generally used for small quantities, up to 10,000 parts per year whereas multiavity tools are for larger quantities. We can look at your projected annual requirements and recommend which would be best for you.

    Q.Ok, I've decided to go ahead with my project. How long will it take to get my parts? A. It can take2 - 4 weeks to have the mould tool manufactured depending on the part's complexity and the number of impressions (single or multi). After we have received final approval by you of the new tool, you can expect delivery of parts within 3-5 days.
